Last week’s matchup between Charlie McDonnell and Alex Day has reached its conclusion with Alex Day winning four votes to one. I’m a tad shocked, but what can you do? Congratulation to the new Nerdthings Champion, Alex Day!!!

This week’s match is a little bit different. In honor of the amazing Avengers movie that came out last week, we here at nerdthingsvsnerdthings would like to ask, “who was your favorite Avenger from the film interpretation?” Was it the divine Thor, the charismatic Iron Man, the time-tested Captain America, or the full-of-rage Hulk? Anyway, a new week is upon us, meaning that we have a new matchup, lovely Nerdies! This week is a battle of Youtube personalities that may actually be the most intense battle yet. On one side sits a somewhat shaggy haired vlogger who likes music, nerdfighteria, skinny-jeans, and tea. Allow me to introduce…Charlie McDonnell! His opposition is his messy haired, slightly eccentric, musical house-mate, Alex Day. Both are awesome! Both are well known! Both are very capable of making you accidentally waste your entire day while watching their videos!

Another week, another match wrapped up! And the results of this week’s match were as follows…

Rome: 2

Rome wins! (That’s great for us Latin students!) Now it’s time to for a new match, which was suggested to me by my friend, Tom. Think back to your childhood (or, if you’re like me, a few hours ago) and remember those wonderful cartoons you used to watch. There was Cartoon Network, with it’s Toonami and Samurai Jack and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Nowadays it contains such programming as Adventure Time, Regular Show and Young Justice. There was also Nickolodeon, with shows such as Spongebob Squarepants, Rocket Power, and As Told by Ginger. Nowadays it sports Legend of Korra, Spongebob Squarepants, and an entire segment dedicated to 90’s tv shows! Which did you prefer? Well, I hope you know, because it’s time to decide!

So the question is…

Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon?

A rather small battle was waged last week between The Chronicals of Narnia and A Series of Unfortunate Events. The Chronicals of Narnia pulled the victory out, 2 votes to 1, and now holds the Nerdthings Titile high into the air! To those of you who actually voted, I offer you my most sincere thanks! Consider yourselves Legends of Nerdthings.

With relevant and timely events in mind, I have a question, Nerdies. As some of you may know, this week marks the 2,766th birthday of Rome. Many of us have found ourselves studying the language and culture of this place, but what about the often compared Greece? It, too, offers a great culture and unique presence in the wake of history. Which of these two seemingly similar places is your preference? Will it be the empire often studied by highschool and college students alike, or will it be the one that most people stop studying after the fun of mythology passes? (Rome or Greece?) Only you, my lovely Nerdies, can properly decide!

A Series of Nerds? Maybe…

So last week’s War of Nerdthings has come to an exciting conclusion; Doctor Who’s Captain Jack won two votes to one in its legendary battle with Captain Jack Sparrow of Pirate’s fame. With Captain Harkness holding the Nerdthings Championship high into the air, I’m sure that everyone is wondering, “Who will wage war next?”

This week’s matchup is between two famous (and good) book series! I offer you A Series of Unfortunate Events versus The Chronicals of Narnia! One is a story full of mystery and the other of fantasy…Which will you choose?

NERDIES!!!

Hi! Last week’s epic fued between Unicorns and Zombies seemed rather predictable, despite the tense atmosphere of war. I ended up being blown away, though, as I watched Unicorns destroy Zombies in a way that hasn’t been seen in any medium for decades. The only option that we have left is to applaud as we watch the majestic Unicorn gallop off of the battlefield, its horn shimmering with fresh blood…Unicorns win 5 votes to 1. Congratulations to the new Nerdthings Champion!

As I state on an almost weekly basis, the title here at Nerdthings V.S. Nerdthings is shortlived. With this in mind, I have a new challenge for you wonderful Nerdies. I offer the question of addictive games. In my mind, there are two games that stand out; Tetris and Minesweeper. So, which is it? Which of these two mercilessly addictive games is the best? Don’t let us down!
